Reviews: Books by Valerie Harmon

The Snake Who Wanted To Be A Horse (WantsToBe)This children's picture e-book story is a silly story with an underlying theme of perseverance and a large dose of hilarious imagination.

Snake has a tender belly. He thinks of an unusual solution, makes an unconventional friend and his life changes unexpectedly at the end.

The Elephant Who Wanted To Be A Bee

Elephant is allergic to the flowers she loves to eat. What can she do? Her solution involves making an unusual friend, attempting some uncommon tasks, and it all ends most unexpectedly.

A cozy read aloud, this picture book makes children laugh and expands their imagination, while teaching them an important lesson about hard work and perseverance.

The Peacock Who Wanted To Be A PigPeacock’s tail is so heavy his back hurts. When he see’s Pig’s tiny curly tail he gets an idea that sends him wading through mud, falling into slop, and a surprising new friendship. This fully-illustrated children’s picture book shows hard work and perseverance accomplishes goals, although the imaginative ending is just pure fun.

The Alligator Who Wanted To Be A Dog
Alligator's sharp-toothed smiles scares away
all the other animals, and he wants a friend. Since dogs are friends with everyone, he decides that he needs to become a dog. A blue ball becomes an introduction to Dog, who advises Alligator on how to become a canine.

This is a fully-illustrated children’s picture e-book about hard work, perseverance and friendship, with a large dollop of silliness that sends kids into giggles.

My thoughts:
I love these stories about the unlikely interaction between the animals and the sheer determination to make a change!  The stories are original and the pictures are colorful and fun!  My kids and I loved to see how each book would end and what the animals would change into!  I give the series 4 stars!!!
