This book is such a fun activity book that is jam packed with puzzles, coloring pages, stickers and facts galore. I love Bigfoot, kind of obsessed actually. As are my kids. We love having the debate: Is Bigfoot real? This book has been a fun way to spend the nights before bed. Challenging each other to find the complete the puzzles, color and so much more. It has become one of our favorite bedtime routines. It really never gets old. Plus, you get to talk about all the types of games and puzzles contained in this Bigfoot activity book, which adds ever more fun. A great book for the kids or the entire family.

About the book:
In this charming romantic comedy perfect for fans of Meg Cabot and Sophie Kinsella, critically acclaimed author Teri Wilson shows us that sometimes being pushed out of your comfort zone leads you to the ultimate prize.

Charlotte Gorman loves her job as an elementary school librarian, and is content to experience life through the pages of her books. Which couldn’t be more opposite from her identical twin sister. Ginny, an Instagram-famous beauty pageant contestant, has been chasing a crown since she was old enough to enunciate the words world peace, and she’s not giving up until she gets the title of Miss American Treasure. And Ginny’s refusing to do it alone this time.

She drags Charlotte to the pageant as a good luck charm, but the winning plan quickly goes awry when Ginny has a terrible, face-altering allergic reaction the night before the pageant, and Charlotte suddenly finds herself in a switcheroo the twins haven’t successfully pulled off in decades.

Woefully unprepared for the glittery world of hair extensions, false eyelashes, and push-up bras, Charlotte is mortified at every unstable step in her sky-high stilettos. But as she discovers there’s more to her fellow contestants than just wanting a sparkly crown, Charlotte realizes she has a whole new motivation for winning.

In this original and beautifully designed book (with colorful illustrations, flaps and full page gate-flaps) you will get to explore all the villains in all their infamous glory! You will learn their likes, dislikes, skills, education and so much more in a resume like layout with their own thoughts included. Such a fun and interesting book and one I really adore!

Edward Hemingway
(Sept 11, 2018; Henry Holt; ages 4-8; 40 pages)

TOUGH COOKIE is a funny riff on The Gingerbread Man story. Cookie, the title character, runs through Christmastown shouting to Fox that he can't be caught, but Fox does indeed catch him and Cookie tastes terrible! It turns out that he's a hard, non-edible cookie ornament, not a sweet cookie, hence the Tough Cookie name.

Making these fun cookie-like ornaments is a wonderful family holiday craft. Eddie is the youngest grandson of Ernest Hemingway, and although his famous grandfather died before Eddie was born, Eddie has very fond family memories making gingerbread houses and these salt, flour, and glue cookie ornaments at Christmas.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is adorable! I loved it so much. It was a fun twist on a holiday story, with a little bit of the classic tale of the gingerbread man. I loved that this story taught the reader about self acceptance, group acceptance and understanding that each and every one of us has a skill or a gift we can use to make the world a better place! A great story to read in the classroom with little ones, with a great activity in the back of the book. Overall, it is just a really sweet, beautifully illustrated holiday story that both kids and adult will love!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
#FirstLine ~ Danny sits at the end of the dock, watching.

This book was really great! I adored it so much. It was tense and original. It was one of those books where the characters were so real, flawed and human. You could not help but get caught up in the story and all the secrets the people and the town are hiding. I found myself so engrossed from cover to cover. I could see this book being made into a movie. It is really plays out like a movie in your mind as you read it. The story is very well paced and the characters are slowly fleshed out! You will also be kept on your toes and you won't see the ending coming. A must read for thriller lovers!

ABOUT THE BOOK:  BLEAK HARBOR (Thomas & Mercer, on sale December 1, 2018), which #1 New York Times bestseller Gillian Flynn calls “an electric bolt of suspense.”

Part Gone Girl, part The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, BLEAK HARBOR will keep readers guessing until the last page and asks the question: how far would you go to save someone you love?

Bryan Gruley is the critically acclaimed author of Starvation Lake: A Mystery and its sequels, The Hanging Tree and The Skeleton Box. He has been nominated for an Edgar Award and has won the Anthony, Barry, and Strand awards. The Enchanted Sonata was brilliant. It was a beautiful and inventive way to retell the story of The Nutcracker. It was magical, musical and very mystical. I adored the characters, the setting and the story. It was such a delight from cover to cover. I think it was the perfect read to get you into the holiday spirit.
