#FirstLine ~ The day my Father's heart stopped, I discovered an extra heart deep in my belly, below my right rib.

I cannot tell you how much I loved this book. My Dad died of a sudden heart attack so this book touched my soul in a way no other book has. I cannot say too much without getting emotional about it. You will adore it too, I know you will. Character and story driven with a rich setting and dialogue that will move and entertain. A perfect book from cover to cover!

#FirstLine ~ Stepping out of my car with heartbreak-heavy legs, I zip my jacket and pull on leather gloves before hefting my spade and bag from the boot: it is time.

An amazing novel that kept me burning through he pages. I was seriously in love with the darkness of the story. It always felt like there were things lingering in the corners, ready to reveal themselves. I was never quite sure what was going to happen, which is great. From that first line on I was entranced by the beautiful was so crisp and dynamic. A great read for book clubs because there is lots to discuss. I loved it!!!

#MMBBR #Review #ChooseYourOwnDisaster by @DanaSchwartzzz via #partner #GrandCentralPublishing

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is fantastic because it is not only fun, but flawed and real. Life is sometimes a series of disasters, but that is part of the learning process. If we cannot learn through our mistakes we are doomed to repeat them, right?!?! Schwartz has created a book that is original and makes the reader feel like all the disasters in their past are more normal than not. Sometimes is takes a few times to get it right and the twists and turns in the road of life and the ones that lead us to where we are supposed to be! A brilliantly creative and fantastic book that readers are going to absolutely love!

Girls' Night Out: A Novel by [Fenton, Liz, Steinke, Lisa]

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

#FirstLine ~ Waves lapped against the shore.

This duo never ceases to amaze me. How they can write such dynamic books so seamlessly is brilliant and very impressive. They once again blew my mind with a flawless story that had me hooked from page one and held me tight throughout. It was so thrilling and exciting with so much depth. The setting was idyllic at the start and then took a turn. Friendships put to the test and secrets come to the surface in this fantastic, hard-to-put down book . Girls' Night Out is a perfect summer read and a book suited for book clubs.

Twisty, turny and definitely thrilling What My Sister Knew will leave you feeling a bit uneasy. It is one of those books that slowly burns to the satisfying conclusion through a well drawn out story with characters that leave an impression. A story that book clubs will enjoy talking about.

An adorable count down book that will have kids "hooting". I cannot wait to use this book in my class for the owls theme. They are going to enjoy it as much, if not more, than me. It is wonderful. I absolutely adore the peek through pages and the colorful illustrations. I know this will be one of the kids very favorite stories and one I know that I will have to read more than once!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book is so great! I just love it. I think the kids are going to love counting along and tracing the numbers. I wish there was a book like this when my kids were little. There is something great about adding in tactile tasks and reading that enhance the learning experience. Kids will love counting the duckies along top, tracing the numbers on the pages and reading and counting along. Plus, the kids will love that the story features their beloved Sesame Street characters. A hit and a book I cannot wait to use in my classes. There are so many uses for this book in the classroom setting.

Hanna ~ Maybe the machine could see the words she never spoke.

Without saying too much...this book is creepy, original, unsettling and dynamic. You will not be able to stop thinking about this book. It is very strange and unconventional. You are going to be uncomfortable reading it and will want to talk about it. I promise you though, that whether you love it or hate it you would have never read anything like it!

#MMBBR #Review #AllYourPerfects by @colleenhoover via #partner @AtriaBooks @SimonBooks

The #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Ends with Us—whose writing is “emotionally wrenching and utterly original” (Sara Shepard, New York Times bestselling author of the Pretty Little Liars series)—delivers a tour de force novel about a troubled marriage and the one old forgotten promise that might be able to save it.

Quinn and Graham have a perfect love story, but their unique connection is threatened by their imperfect marriage. The memories, mistakes, and secrets that they have built up over the years are now tearing them apart, day by heartbreaking day. The one thing that could save them might also be the very thing that pushes their marriage beyond the point of repair. So do they risk it? Is their history worth saving?

All Your Perfects is a profound novel about a damaged couple struggling with a relatable issue – infertility – whose potential future hinges on promises made in the past. In Colleen Hoover’s inimitable style and brilliant narrative voice, this heartbreaking page-turner asks: Can a resounding love with a fairytale beginning survive a lifetime between two imperfect people?

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Another brilliantly perfect book that pulled at my heart strings, made me think and moved me to the core. Hoover never ceases to amaze me with her richly character driven stories that are paced and potted wonderfully. This story was one that blew me away because Hoover tackled a tough topic, but gave it such honor and depth. She made it come to life for the reader, as the reader was feeling everything the characters felt, from start to finish. Another hit and one that readers are going to find was well worth the wait!!

#MMBBR #Review #BookTrailer #AHomeForLeo by @vin_vogel via #Partner @barbfisch & @blueslipper

Leo grew up in the sea. He has a family of sea lions he loves. He’s happy, but he has always known he was different. Then Leo’s suddenly reunited with his human parents, and he finds he loves them too. But he still feels like a fish out of water. Being from two worlds and having two families isn’t so easy. Leo has a lot to figure out…
Splashed with humor and grounded in heart, this brightly illustrated story explores ideas of family, home, and belonging in a way that’s as relatable as it is unique.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A super cute story that is easy to relate to for all young readers. We all have felt like a fish out of water at some point in our lives and this book is a great way to create dialogue with kids about that feeling of not quite fitting in anywhere. I simply loved the story and the illustrations. A delight from cover to cover!

Vin Vogel is the author-illustrator of The Thing About Yetis and Bedtime for Yeti and the illustrator of Bob and Joss Get Lost! and Bob and Joss Take a Hike! by Peter McCleery, Music Class Today by David Weinstone, and Maddi’s Fridge by Lois Brandt, which won a Christopher Award. Vin grew up near the ocean and always wanted a sea lion as a pet. He also wanted to write a story about the idea of home and the feeling of being a fish out of water. When he heard about the sea lion population crisis in California, Vin knew this was the story he needed to write. After having lived for a time in New York City, Vin’s back in his hometown of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he can be found with his two cats and his single-fin surfboards. Learn more about Vin at

A fun camping book that highlights the creatures that roam at night. It is a cute story that show how animals get curious about tents. I think when my kids were very young the bear may have caused them to be nervous in the woods at night, but older readers will find ti quite funny, especially when the skunk comes into the picture.

#MMBBR #Review #WhenWeFoundHome by @susanmallery via #partner @HarperCollins

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

#FirstLine ~ As Delaney Holbrook watched the man in the suit approached, she did her best to remind herself she'd given up on men in suits -- in fact all men and most suits, when it came to that.

A delightful read that kept me fully engaged the whole way through. I love that I can count on Mallery to write books that have dynamic characters that make me feel and great plots that make me think. I am always so satisfied when I finish one of her books. When We Found Home was one of my favorite books she has written so far. A great summer read!

#MMBBR #Review #WhoseBoat by @ToniBuzzeo and @tomfroese via #partner #AbramsBooks

WHOSE BOAT? by author Toni Buzzeo, with the stylized art of Tom Froese, is an interactive and nonfiction ode to boats—a patrol boat, a tugboat, a car ferry, a lobster boat, a lifeboat, and a fireboat—with important parts properly labeled.

Smoke billows up.
Cool water flows.
Whose boat is that?
Do you know?
The answer to each inquiring refrain lies under a gatefold, engaging the reader in an informative guessing game. This lyrical and sturdy board book is perfect for curious and playful young readers, and a great addition to the previous books in the series, Whose Truck? and Whose Tools?, also published by Abrams Books.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A cute book, with great fold out pages, will keep the kids busy learning all about types of boats, their drivers and various uses for boats. A well made board board that will hold up to continued reads. It is also very brightly illustrated.
