@BookSparks #SRC2017 Week One #Reviews @MCampbellBooks @PaulaHWrites #FirstLine

We are kicking off with

Here's the full May Lineup:

A single mother turns up dead at the bottom of the river that runs through town. Earlier in the summer, a vulnerable teenage girl met the same fate. They are not the first women lost to these dark waters, but their deaths disturb the river and its history, dredging up secrets long submerged.

Left behind is a lonely fifteen-year-old girl. Parentless and friendless, she now finds herself in the care of her mother's sister, a fearful stranger who has been dragged back to the place she deliberately ran from—a place to which she vowed she'd never return.
With the same propulsive writing and acute understanding of human instincts that captivated millions of readers around the world in her explosive debut thriller, The Girl on the Train, Paula Hawkins delivers an urgent, twisting, deeply satisfying read that hinges on the deceptiveness of emotion and memory, as well as the devastating ways that the past can reach a long arm into the present.
Beware a calm surface—you never know what lies beneath.
How did things come to this?
As the novel cuts back and forth between their college years and their adult years, you see the exact reasons why these women love and hate each other—but can feelings that strong lead to murder? Or will everyone assume, as is often the case, that it’s always the husband?

MY REVIEW:

#FirstLine ~ "Again! Again!"

Another thriller from a gifted storyteller.   Again, just like when I read GIRL ON A TRAIN, I was transfixed by the story.  I never really knew what was going to happen, which I absolutely loved.  I was engulfed by the mystery...unable to let go of what happened and how everyone was involved or how all the pieces fit together.  I devoured this book.  I never knew what was going to happen and often times gasped when little pieces of the story were revealed.   It was a thrill from start to finish and the ending was very unexpected and very satisfying.  You will want to read this book right away!!!!  Hurry and grab it today!

Kate, Aubrey, and Jenny. They first met as college roommates and soon became inseparable, even though they are as different as three women can be. Twenty years later, one of them is standing at the edge of a bridge . . and someone else is urging her to jump.

MY REVIEW:

#FirstLine ~ She stumbled through the dark woods, the trees dripping raindrops onto her hair and her party dress.

This book has everything...lies, betrayal, cheating and murder mixed in with the bonds of love and friendship and the delicate line in between.  All this blended together makes for one very interesting and compelling read.  I love that this book kept me guessing.  The story covered friendships from long ago and how they are still connected after all that time.  I never really knew what was going to happen and was thoroughly engaged the whole time wondering whodunit?  You will love being a witness to all that goes on in this twisty, turny novel. A must read this summer.
