Book Description
Brooke Hart was beautiful, smart, and groomed from birth to deal with adversity. Her widowed father did his best to raise his baby girl to be a strong-minded business woman. Then she found Tanner. Just when her world seemed perfect, everything turned upside down. Following Tanner’s tragic death, Brooke joins a start-up company that is developing a cure for the disease that killed the love of her life. Just before the treatment is ready to market, the company is gobbled up by a giant conglomerate. She moves to the acquiring company as its youngest VP and becomes enamored with CEO Chase Allman—only to be betrayed by him. Brooke rebounds again and sets out on a personal journey to discover what will truly make her happy. Sparks fly when she and Chase cross paths again in an unlikely way. Now, they need each other to find an abducted child and save thousands of people.
Q. What inspires your writing?
A. My mission statement is to write books that inspire and entertain. I love comments from readers who found inspiration in both “The Bliss List,” and “Pink Slips and Glass Slippers.”
Q. What is your favorite thing about being an author?
A. I love the freedom to create. Plus, you get to work in your underwear.
Q. What is the toughest part of being an author?
A. The time that it takes until your completed manuscript finally becomes a book.
Q. If you could not be author, what would you do/be?
A. I consider myself to be a juggler, juggling four jobs: Author, Life Coach, Inspirational Speaker, and President of an Executive Search firm. Mark Twain said: “The secret of success is to make your vocation your vacation.” That has always been my credo.
Q. What would the story of your life be entitled?
A. Change is eternal, progress divine.
Q. What is your favorite book of all time?
A. “The Silva Mind Control Method,” by Jose Silva has had a profound effect on me and I would not have written three books without it.
Q. Which character from ANY book are you most like?
A. Shane in “Pink Slips and Glass Slippers.” Let’s just say I didn’t have to stretch too far with that “character.”
Q. What character from all of your book are you most like?
A. Shane (see above)
Q. Which book would you love to take a weekend vacation inside of?
A. “Pink Slips and Glass Slippers,” on Hilton Head Island with Brooke.
Q. What is your favorite season?
A. Though I do love all four seasons given my Midwestern upbringing, I am a Summer person.
Q. What inspired your book cover(s)? Or what is your favorite book cover and why?
A. I loved the yellow brick road (made with real gold images) on the original “The Bliss List.” It was a great metaphor for the content of the book. I also thought the glass slippers (which took 8 hours to manually design) on “Pink Slips and Glass Slippers” absolutely made the cover.
Q. Tell me something funny that happened while on a book tour or while promoting your book.
A. It’s always funny when a female reader notices that I’m a guy. I guess there are not many 6’5” Romance writers.
Q. Are you working on something new?
A. I am currently working on six books (3 fiction, 3 non-fiction). All of them are inspirational.
Q. Anything you want to say to followers of this blog or those that are just stopping by?
A. If you loved my book(s), tell the whole world; if not, shhhhhhhh.
