In The Enchanted Sonata, 15-year-old Clara Stahlbaum has her future perfectly planned: marry the handsome pianist, Johann Kahler (ah!), and settle down to a life full of music. But all that changes when Clara receives a mysterious and magical nutcracker. Whisked away to his world—an enchanted empire of beautiful palaces, fickle fairies, enormous rats, and a prince—Clara must face a magician who uses music as magic...and the future she thought she wanted.

#FirstLine ~ Prelude: What makes magic...magic?
The Enchanted Sonata was brilliant. It was a beautiful and inventive way to retell the story of The Nutcracker. It was magical, musical and very mystical. I adored the characters, the setting and the story. It was such a delight from cover to cover. I think it was the perfect read to get you into the holiday spirit. I love when writers bring to life a story in a new way but still capturing the things we loved about the original, which was done flawlessly here. This book captures so much adventure, romance, and fun! It is a must read!
