Anthony Pearson, illus. by Jennifer E. Morris
(Oct 1, 2018; Two Lions/Amazon; ages 3-7; 40 pages)
In this imaginary backstory to “Mary Had a Little Lamb,” Eduardo is a member of the FBI--Fairytale Bureau of Investigations--as an elite sheep. He knows give forms of Kung Fu and he can outfox the foxiest of foxes. His job: to keep Mary safe from Wolf, Troll, and Witch.
There is so much fun here between text and art--lots of visual jokes (Humpty Dumpty is reading a book titled “Cracking Codes”).
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book is FANTASTIC! I just adored it!! It is original, creative and such fun! I was really into the story because the characters were so familiar, yet given bolder and more in depth personalities. Ye illustration are also amazing. They add so much to this already wonderful story. Each characters personality jumped off the page! This will sure to become a new favorite in your house. I loved reading it, as did my boys! I hope there are more books in this series because I want to follow Eduardo and the Fairy-Tale Bureau of Investigations on many more cases!
