Such an amazing book about friends. This is one of those books that keeps so engaged and guessing, right to the very last page. You will be swept up into the life's within the pages. Those Secrets We Keep is about so much more than friends though...it has depth in plot, richness in characters and brilliance in setting. It is about how secrets can be kept, but at what cost? 5 stars
Q. What inspires your writing?
A. My own experiences and the experiences of my friends and family. Snippets of conversations. Absurd encounters. Larger than life real “characters."
Q. What is your favorite thing about being an writer?
A. The freedom to be creative. I make up stories for a living. I also cherish the ability to dictate my own schedule. If I want to cover lunch duty at my older son’s school at 12:30 on a Wednesday, I can.
Q. What is the toughest part of being an writer?
A. The discipline! Since I do have the ability to dictate my own schedule that also allows for the tendency to procrastinate. Why write 1,000 words when you can go get a mani/pedi!?
Q. If you could not be writer, what would you do/be?
A. A chef. Or a therapist.
Q. What would the story of your life be entitled?
A. To soon to tell.
Q. What is your favorite book of all time?
A. Charlotte’s Web
Q. What character from all of your book are you most like?
A. I’m most like Katherine from my first novel You Knew Me When, only I’m softer. That comes from being a mom. I’d say I’m also a combination of Annabel and Mackenzie from my fifth book Some Women which will publish in April 2016.
Q. What do you want to be remembered for 100 years from now?
A. Being the best mother I could be.
Q. What is your favorite season?
A. Summer. Hands down.
Q. What inspired your book cover(s)? Or what is your favorite book cover and why?
A. The characters along with the overall “feel” of the book inspire the cover. I love the cover of my new novel Those Secrets We Keep, because it really captures the essence of the book and the leading ladies.
Q. Are you working on something new?
A. Right now I’m promoting Those Secrets We Keep! And I’m in the final editing process for Some Women. The goal is to write a novel every nine months for the foreseeable future!
Q. Anything you want to say to followers of this blog or those that are just stopping by?
A. I hope you’re as excited about reading my books as I am about writing them. I love feedback!! So please write to me through my website emilyliebert.com.
