My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is one of the BEST I have seen! It is awesome how it is laid out!!! It is like a vision sensation! There is so much to look at and read! I am sure that you could read this over and over and over and learn something new. Here is a fun tidbit: The red spot on Jupiter is actually a hurricane-like storm that has been going on for more than 400 years. Learn about this and so many more awesome and wacky facts within the 10 chapters in this book! It is jam packed with things that I find fun, interesting and oh so enlightening! My kids are going to love this book so much too.

Try This Extreme: 50 Fun & Safe Experiments for the Mad Scientist in You by Karen Romano Young
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book is quite speculator! Within this amazing book there are 50 fun and safe experiments. In addition to all the fabulous experiments, there are facts and tidbits galore. While you peruse the book you can look through the chapters and choose the experiments that interest you the most. The chapters are: Snow and Ice, Survival Skills, Feel the Force, Animal Superpowers, Special F/X, Water Way to Act and Hot Stuff. When this book arrived my son was instantly reading it bouncing from page to page...all I heard was "Let's do this experiment first, oh wait no this one...." followed by some true enthusiasm. These are the type of books that capture the attention of young readers because they have amazing vibrant photos with fun facts and easy to follow instructions. I love that I can trust that my child will be learning interesting and important facts and that their attention will be captured while they expand their minds. This will be a staple book for my boys over the summer! I cannot wait until we have time to work our way through this book cover to cover!

Astronaut-Aquanaut: How Space Science and Sea Science Interact by Jennifer Swanson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is FANTASTIC. I could not stop reading it. Both my boys thought is was super cool too! Did you know that there are lots of ways that space and sea science interact? For example there are lots of similarities from how the explorers sleep, travel and use technology to help them learn and advance technology. So cool right! In this book you will read about all the ways that they are the same and what it takes to explore the vast reaches of both space and sea. This book has all the things that I love about National Geographic...the amazing photos, great tidbits and facts, as well as the well written glossary and index located in the back of the book. This book will make you want to explore your world from one extreme to the other.
