Q. What inspires your writing?
A. I know what it's like to be stuck in a cubicle all day. When I read, I'm looking for an escape - I'm inspired to provide brief respite from the day for readers.
Q. What is your favorite thing about being a writer?
A. There are so many things, it's difficult to put a value on them. Three parts of the process stick out for me: 1) when the initial idea comes to me, 2) when I hit publish (because it's the culmination of a lot of hard work, and 3) connecting with readers.
Q. What is the toughest part of being a writer?
A. Artists are filled with self-doubt. I'm no exception.
Q. If you could not be writer, what would you do/be?
A. A professional golfer.
Q. What would the story of your life be entitled?
A. "Don't You Have Something Better To Read?"
Q. What is your favorite book of all time?
A. I'm going to cheat and give you two: The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler and Tai-Pan by James Clavell.
Q. Which character from ANY book are you most like?
A. Superman (just kidding)
Q. What character from all of your book are you most like?
A. Eddie McCloskey. He's an interesting version of dull me.
Q. Which book would you love to take a weekend vacation inside of?
A. Imperium by Robert Harris. Would love to spend a week in Ancient Rome with Cicero and Caesar.
Q. What is your favorite season?
A. Golf season.
Q. Are you working on something new?
A. Too many things: the historical fiction series I co-author with Nathanael Green, the sixth book in my paranormal series, a few standalones, my next YA book, and a middle-grade book.
