WHAT IS THIS BOOK ABOUT?
The year is 1923, and Richard Wikki, a former detective
from Scotland Yard and now a professor at the prestigious Yale University in New Haven ,
CT , misses his days
of crime solving. Maize Judson has enrolled at Yale with hopes of becoming an
investigative journalist. When Maize and her friend find a skeleton buried in
the sand at the beach with a mysterious amulet wrapped around its fingers, she
and Richard set out to solve a murder. But Richard soon finds himself following
well-planted illusionary clues, and as he continues to investigate, a series of
events shake the depths of his philosophical, religious and spiritual beliefs,
as well as his perspective on life…forever.
WHAT MAKES THIS BOOK UNIQUE?
Although a fictional mystery, The Ivy League Chronicles: 9 Squares by E.K. Prescott,

Q. What inspires your writing?
A. I have always loved to write; journaling in
particular. As I moved forward in my educational career, my niche seemed to be
inspiring students to write and teach teachers how to teach writing. I decided
I wanted to write a book at this time in my life. I started writing things down
that I was interested in, like historical fiction, 1920s, series, developing
characters, etc.
Q. What is your favorite thing about being an
author?
A. I love to create with words ... it's like
painting a picture; what I see is real and allows the reader to enter a world
that I created.
Q. What is the toughest part of being an author?
A. Getting started with the opening of each chapter
... once I do, everything flows.
Q. If you could not be author, what would you
do/be?
A. What I have done all my life ... teach.
Q. What would the story of your life be entitled?
A. Is This
All There Is?
Q. What is your favorite book of all time?
A. All of the Conan Doyle Sherlock Holmes stories.
Q. Which character from ANY book are you most like?
A. Any character that has Maize's qualities (one of
the two main characters in my books). Maize is me.
Q. What character from all of your books are
you most like?
A. I intentionally created Lady Peacock after a
movie character called Auntie Mame. If my books would become a movie or an HBO
series, she's the character I would love to play.
Q. What is your favorite season?
A. Spring ... it is full of growth and
possibilities.
A. Actually my husband came up with the idea of the
book cover. It relates to place, murder, and the key to what the story is
about.
Q. Tell me something funny that happened while on a
book tour or while promoting your book.
A. My family's nickname for me is “Lucy” as in
Lucille Ball. So usually there are a lot of things happening all around me
which keep us all in stitches.
Q. Are you working on something new?
A. Book two is in the process of being written,
book three is being researched, and book four is a rough sketch.
Q. Anything you want to say to followers of this
blog or those that are just stopping by?
A. I love
interaction with my readers. I have had such an eclectic response to what
readers take away from my books and I am always intrigued to hear everyone’s
thoughts and opinions.
